Swell Stop Liquid
Liquid PHPA polymer stabilises boreholes, reduces fluid loss, and enhances cuttings encapsulation and hole cleaning. Swell Stop Liquid is a synthetic polymer dispersed in a liquid carrier.
APPLICATIONS
Swell Stop is a high molecular weight liquid PHPA polymer that works effectively in diamond coring, waterwell drilling, and HDD.
In diamond coring and waterwell drilling, Swell Stop stabilises the wellbore and reduces fluid loss by forming a protective layer on borehole walls. This prevents shale swelling and breakage, resulting in smoother drilling and better core recovery. It helps avoid bit-balling by coating and lubricating solids.
In Bentonite-free HDD systems, Swell Stop excels at encapsulating cuttings and minimising their dispersion. This enhances shale stabilisation, and when used with an inhibitor like Clay Control, it effectively drills through reactive clay formations.
It can be chemically broken down with sodium hypochlorite. Use 1L/1,000L in a 13% solution to break down the product.

Typical concentrations range from 1L to 2L/m3. Add directly to the tank.

Swell Stop Liquid is in 20L pails.
Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Follow safe warehousing practices regarding palletising, banding, shrink-wrapping and stacking.
