Filter Low
Low-viscosity PAC polymer that reduces fluid loss to the formation and minimises pressure in the borehole.
Filter Low is effective at low concentrations. It can be used in freshwater, seawater, and brines up to 149°C.
APPLICATIONS
Filter Low reduces fluid loss with only a small increase in viscosity in water-based drilling fluids. It efficiently achieves results in oil and gas, geothermal, waterwell, HDD, diamond coring, tunnelling, piling, and construction applications.
Filter Low is commonly added to a bentonite slurry to build a stronger, thinner filter cake and reduce formation loss.
Filter Low can be used in a bentonite-free system. It reduces fluid loss, stabilises reactive shales, and enhances lubrication by forming a thin filter cake without substantially increasing viscosity.
If a high-viscosity system is preferred, Filter High is a better choice.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
In a bentonite-based system, typical concentrations range from 0.5 - 2.5kg/m3.
In a bentonite-free system, typical concentrations range from 1.0 - 4.0kg/m3.
In an oil and gas or geothermal programme, concentrations may be higher.
Add slowly through the hopper.
TOXICITY AND HANDLING
Handle as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions described in the Saftey Data Sheet (SDS).
PACKAGING AND STORAGE
Filter Low is in 15kg pails.
Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Follow safe warehousing practices regarding palletising, banding, shrink-wrapping and stacking.
