Casing Spacers & Centralisers
Blick supplies kwik-ZIP casing spacers and centralisers.
Casing spacers are used extensively in trenchless pipeline installation, water well drilling and piling/construction. We work with sizes to support 16mm to 1,600mm diameter.
All our casing spacers and centralisers are inert, non-corroding, non-metallic and have been used extensively worldwide for years. These products are often described as being the easiest to use, and deliver the best results in construction projects.
Casing spacers used in the Te Maunga landward outfall
For many years, Kwik-ZIP casing spacers and centralisers have been used across a wide range of industries in Australia, New Zealand and beyond.
In the Te Maunga landward outfall case study - the spacers were primarily used to centralise the product pipe and maintain the grade over the life of the asset. They also allow the product pipe to be slip lined inside a concrete carrier pipe, with a wide variety of joint gaps and lips that had to be negotiated.
kwik-ZIP GT Series Centraliser
The kwik-ZIP GT Series Centraliser is suitable for anchors, rock bolts, soil nails, small diameter drop pipe, down hole camera, post tensioning, monitor wells and geophysical tools.
kwik-ZIP HD Series Centraliser
The kwik-ZIP HD Series Centraliser is a non-corroding, non-metallic heavy duty bow spring casing spacer for horizontal pipe-in-pipe (PIP), and open bore applications - such as wastewater and sewer pipelines, slip lining and cased crossings. Suitable for light to medium weight carrier pipe materials, including steel, ductile, MSCL, GRE, PVC, and HDPE.
kwik-ZIP HDX and HDXT Series Centraliser
The kwik-ZIP HDX and HDXT Series Centralisers are non-corroding, non-metallic casing spacer for Pipe-in-Pipe (PIP) applications such as slip lining and cased crossings for all medium to heavy weight pipe materials including steel, DICL, MSCL, GRE, PVC and HDPE.
kwik-ZIP 155 Series Centraliser
The kwik-ZIP 155 Series Centraliser is suitable for gravel packed well screens, water well casing, monitor wells, drop pipe, pump installation, piles, anchors and sheathing for ground engineering. It requires a specific tool to utilise but works well in gaps between sizes. This is a less common item.
kwik-ZIP 380 Series Centraliser
The kwik-ZIP 380 Series Centraliser is suitable for well production casing in borehole, gravel packed well screens, casing and drop pipe. It requires a specific tool to utilise but works well in gaps between sizes. This is a less common item.
Which centraliser do I use?
Selecting the most appropriate centraliser is largely based on the intended application, once the right series has been selected, work out which model to use based on:
The diameter of the pipe you are using, and;
The space available between the outside diameter of the pipe and the internal diameter of the hole - this determines which bow height to select on the centraliser
The bow height to use should always be less than the measurement of C
A = Diameter of the hole
B = Outside diameter of the pipe
C = (A - B) ÷ 2 = C
GT EXAMPLE
A = 100mm inside diameter of external pipe or hole
B = 32mm pipe
C = (100 - 32) ÷ 2 = 68 ÷ 2 = 34mm
Select the bow height that is closest size available to but less than 34
Product Selection: GT 30-1 (30mm bow height)
HDX EXAMPLE
A = 458mm inside diameter of external pipe or hole
B = 355mm pipe
C = (458 - 355) ÷ 2 = 103 ÷ 2 = 51.5mm
Select the bow height that is closest size available to but less that 51.5
Product Selection: HDX 38 (38mm bow height)
