Construct Gel

Construct Gel is a premium-grade API Certified sodium bentonite that will yield 91 to 100 barrels of 15-cP mud per ton (1.7 m3/100 kg) in a water-based drilling fluid.

Its primary properties are filter cake building and filtration control.

Construct Gel meets the Bentonite specifications of the ISO 13500 Clause 9 (formerly known as API Spec 13A, Section 9).

APPLICATIONS

Construct Gel reduces fluid loss and increases viscosity in water-based drilling fluids. It is a cost-effective means of achieving results in oil and gas, geothermal, tunnelling, piling, and construction applications.

It is well suited to be used as a material for cement bentonite grout.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
Typical concentrations range from 14 to 100 kg/m3 (5 to 35 lb/bbl).

As with all bentonite products, yield decreases as water quality reduces. In salty (>5,000 mg/L Clˉ) or hard (>240 mg/L Ca++) water, Construct Gel's performance is significantly reduced unless prehydrated in fresh water before adding it to the mud system.

TOXICITY AND HANDLING
Handle as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions described in the Saftey Data Sheet (SDS).

PACKAGING AND STORAGE
Construct Gel is in 25kg pails and bulk sacks.

Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Follow safe warehousing practices regarding palletising, banding, shrink-wrapping and stacking.
