APPLICATIONS

Defoam is a versatile defoaming agent designed for air-drilling operations and water-based drilling fluids. It effectively manages surface foam and reduces air entrainment, enhancing drilling fluid performance and operational stability. Defoam is effective in fresh, brackish, and salty waters, working at low concentrations to improve fluid handling and reduce overflow issues.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
For air/foam drilling:

Mix Defoam with water in a pump sprayer at a ratio of 32–125 ml/L of water. Apply the mixture as a mist to the surface of the generated foam. For larger-scale operations, mix Defoam at 3.2–12.5% by volume with water and inject it at the flow line for effective foam control.

For water-based drilling fluids:

Add Defoam directly to the affected fluid at concentrations of 0.3–1.25 L/m³, depending on the severity of foaming. Adjust the dosage as needed to achieve optimal foam suppression.

TOXICITY AND HANDLING
Handle as an industrial chemical, wearing protective equipment and observing the precautions described in the Saftey Data Sheet (SDS).

PACKAGING AND STORAGE
Defoam is in 20L pails.
Store in a dry, well-ventilated area. Follow safe warehousing practices regarding palletising, banding, shrink-wrapping and stacking.
